TufCOR(TM) 703 Combines Value and Performance for Caulk Manufacturers

Excellent filler acceptance and freeze-thaw stability enable emulsion for use in painter's caulk applications

Charlotte, North Carolina - At this year's American Coatings Show, Celanese Emulsion Polymers will present resins for use in building products and adhesives in addition to their line of emulsions for paints and coatings. One of the products featured is TufCOR(TM) 703, designed for use in interior painter's caulk.

"We are pleased to bring our TufCOR(TM) line of products to ACS 2010 because many of our customers will attend the show," said David Trueba, Marketing Manager for Celanese Emulsion Polymers.

Based on vinyl technology, TufCOR(TM) 703 helps caulk formulators to achieve the appropriate rheology and finishing properties, allowing for good gunnability and smooth application. The emulsion allows for good adhesion to multiple substrates including wood and cement in dry, interior applications. The polymer enables excellent filler acceptance, providing a wide range of pigment-to-binder ratio. Moreover, it meets builders' requirements for freeze-thaw stability.

"TufCOR(TM) 703 offers excellent value to caulk manufacturers because it is so versatile and offers good performance on several fronts," said Trueba. "This product is based on vinyl technology, which is especially suited for this application and a better fit than other chemistries that over-engineer the caulk products and add cost," said Trueba.

The TufCOR(TM) line of emulsions has been designed to meet the performance requirements of modern construction environments, representing optimum adhesive solutions for joining a wide array of substrates. TufCOR(TM) emulsions are key building block materials for construction products such as tape-joint compounds, caulks and sealants, mastics, cement bonding and liquid admixtures.
