Glowpoint Announces Automated Monitoring and Notification Service

Cloud-Based Service "NOTIFY(TM)" Provides Real-Time Notification of Operational Status of All IP-Addressable Devices in Business Video Environments

HILLSIDE, N.J., - Glowpoint, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLOW), a global provider of managed services for telepresence and video conferencing, today announced the launch of "NOTIFY," an automated monitoring and notification service for use with any IP-addressable devices deployed in business video environments.

NOTIFY continuously monitors and provides real-time notifications to businesses, and designated maintenance providers, regarding the status of all components in their video environments. NOTIFY complements Glowpoint's suite of automated, cloud-based managed service applications, including Video Room Sweep (VRS), announced earlier this year, that are designed to ensure overall telepresence and video conferencing room reliability and availability.

NOTIFY was previously available to VNOC managed service customers exclusively, but can now be easily integrated into any existing or new video deployment regardless of whether or not a full-service VNOC managed service is engaged. According to Wainhouse Research, the total number of video endpoints sold in 2010 has increased by 17 percent over 2009, with more than 126,000 units sold through Q2 and video-related infrastructure spending in Q2/10 is nearly $130 million, a 26 percent increase over 2009. NOTIFY has been made more readily available to accommodate this growing market demand for unified communications.

NOTIFY Highlights

o 24/7 monitoring for video endpoints, control panels, routers, gatekeepers, IP PBX, gateways, switches, bridges, and other IP-accessible devices

o Real-time notifications for readiness of IP network and any telepresence, video conferencing or VoIP infrastructure device

o Automatic notification to business technology maintenance providers to initiate remediation processes

o Access to web portal for historical reporting

o Affordably priced at $49/month per device

Michael Brandofino, executive vice president of video and unified communications at AVI-SPL, the largest global audio video systems integration and services firm, said "The timing could not be better for this service. We are deploying telepresence, video conferencing, and associated infrastructure devices at a rapid pace, and will now be able to offer our clients a cost-effective solution to maximize their up-time and provide the fastest possible response to any issues faced."

Glowpoint Senior Vice President of Product Development Anil Balani said, "Video is a critical component of any UC infrastructure. NOTIFY holistically monitors all of the supporting elements to ensure the greatest possible up-time and delivery of trouble-free meetings. NOTIFY monitors all components of a video infrastructure and automates what would otherwise be a labor-intensive process. NOTIFY can easily be bundled into the maintenance agreement offered by our partners."

NOTIFY will be commercially available in the 4th quarter of 2010. Complete details and specifications are available on request.

Glowpoint currently provides a full suite of VNOC managed services to more than 840 telepresence / video rooms and has produced more than 68,000 video conferences for its clients during 2010. In addition, more than 580 unique enterprises - and thousands of video systems with mixed video environments - are connected to Glowpoint's Telepresence interExchange Network (TEN), which enables business-to-business video calling across the globe.
