New Samsung Video Management Software Delivers Improved User Experience with Innovative GUI

License-Free VMS Solution Supports Best Practice Security Operations

Las Vegas, NV – Samsung Techwin America, a global supplier of video surveillance and security products combining superior performance and value, introduces Samsung Security Manager (SSM) video management software (VMS). The license-free VMS solution enables central management of up to 1152 cameras and allows monitoring of live or recorded images by authorized users from anywhere on the network.

“Today’s physical security environment continues to migrate towards more highly integrated systems with data management and actionable intelligence,” said Frank De Fina, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Samsung Techwin America. “Our new license-free SSM VMS seamlessly brings these elements together into an advanced turn-key solution that provides customers with extreme functionality and value.”

SSM is designed with a user-intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that helps make the user experience easier while also supporting best practice security operations. Its abundance of intelligent features and functions transform systems built on Samsung network cameras, encoders, DVRs and NVRs into an extremely powerful and cost-efficient video surveillance management tool.

SSM incorporates a wide selection of viewing configurations including various split screen options in 4:3 or 16:9 display format. Each configuration can be named and saved for future use. The system permits administrators to import building or site maps and overlay them with icons representing the locations of installed cameras. Icons can be set up to pop-up if there is a related alarm event, facilitating the quick selection and monitoring of live images from the camera nearest to the incident. Recorded video of the situation prior to the triggered alarm can be simultaneously retrieved and viewed for additional intelligence.

A real-time event viewer provides an event log which can include a single channel preview as well as comments entered by an operator. The event log, which can be sorted by camera number or event type, can be exported in Excel/PDF format to be used if necessary as evidence. SSM’s graphical user interface also makes it very easy to register new devices or automatically upgrade any Samsung device on the network as well as “health check” the system.
