Put the Power of Intelligent Video Where You Need It with Pelco Endura

Clovis, CA (April 10, 2008) - Pelco is proud to introduce a powerful new addition for the Endura IP Video Security System: Endura Intelligent Video & Analytics.

Through constant screening and filtering of video, this solution - consisting of an Endura Intelligent Video Encoder (hardware) and Video Analytics Behaviors (software) - can use pre-defined rules to identify specific conditions and notify operators via alarm. Operators can then make quick, informed decisions. With this ability to "manage the situation by exception," security teams can deploy personnel only when and where they are needed - saving time and resources.

The new Pelco-designed Endura Intelligent Encoders, combined with a suite of seven object and activity detection behaviors - including, Abandoned Object, Object Removal, Vibration Removal, Adaptive Motion, Directional Motion, Object Counting, and Camera Sabotage - allow users to distribute "intelligence" to the edge of their security systems. What's more, this suite of intelligent video products is fully integrated and systemized into the Endura video security system. The unique design allows the Endura Intelligent Encoder to deliver dual independent MPEG-4 video streams of up to 30 images per second, per video stream, while still processing object detection software.

"The powerful and intuitive user interface makes it quick and easy for installers and users to customize the operation of video analytics for their unique environments. Alarms, relays, and much more are systemized with the rest of Endura - making this system truly intelligent. There is no need for additional system integration work - users can get up and running with video analytics immediately," says Rob Morello, Pelco Senior Product Marketing Manager.

The Endura approach puts the power of intelligent video where you need it - at the edge of your network. Placing intelligent encoders at the edge of an IP video system offers key performance advantages over centralized approaches. The system can immediately process video in real-time, which allows for a higher level of accuracy in video analytics. This distributed approach also relieves the system of unnecessary bandwidth demands, which may overburden centralized systems.
