Pass and Seymour/Legrand Introduces 2 x 2 Video Amplification Module

New Video Amplification Module expands capacity of home video network, adds functionality to P&S Home Network Center

SYRACUSE, N.Y. November 12, 2004 - Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading manufacturer of electrical and network wiring devices, today announced the introduction of its new 2 x 2 Video Amplification Module. The module was designed to add functionality to the P&S Home Network Center by expanding the capacity for up to 16 TV connections.

The P&S 2 x 2 Video Amplification Module provides a central hub for a home's video network by combining video signal originating outside the home, such as cable TV or an antenna, with signals originating or processed inside the home, such as DVD, VCR, satellite and security camera. The module's bi-directional capabilities also make it compatible with digital cable systems as well as cable broadband service.

The module will amplify a signal for up to 16 TV locations when installed with either the P&S 1 x 8 or 1 x 4 Video Splitter/Combiner. A video splitter/combiner can also be used to increase the number of internal signals the module can accept to 4 or 8.

The module uses self-terminating connectors, preventing video bleeding onto off-air or cable systems.

"The new 2 x 2 Video Amplification Module gives homeowners the capability of significantly increasing the number of television sets receiving both internal and external video signals." said Tom Lyga, product manager for Pass & Seymour/Legrand.

The 2 x 2 Video Amplification Module can be powered by a 15V DC stand-alone power supply or the P&S Power Distribution Module. Because it fits in a single module space, it can be used in any of the P&S Home Network Centers.
