New GE Fanuc PMC DVI-I Video Adapter Delivers Outstanding Performance and Flexibility for Multiple Single Board Computer Applications

Huntsville, Ala. - December 4, 2003 - GE Fanuc Automation Americas, Inc., an affiliate of GE Industrial Systems, today announced the VMIPMC-7463 DVI-I Video Adapter. Using ATI's PCI-based Mobility(tm) Radeon(tm) graphics controller, the VMIPMC-7463 provides 16 MB of internal video DDR memory to allow 32-bit true color support of high graphics resolutions and offers a composite TV video connector that allows for simultaneous DVI/TV output. The composite video output supports either PAL or NTSC video standards. The VMIPMC-7463 is ideal for applications such as training and simulation, where a high-end graphical display is required on a single board computer that provides a PMC site.

The VMIPMC-7463 has a digital visual interface (DVI) located on the front panel that provides both a high speed digital video connection and a legacy analog (VGA) connection. DVI supports a single transition minimized differential signal (TMDS) link allowing for flat panel resolutions up to 1,600 x 1,200. DVI also supports the VESA display data channel (DDC) and extended display identification data (EDID) specification, which allows for varying display device parameters such as timing, resolution and color depth to be accommodated. For legacy VGA support, an adapter is required to convert the DVI-I connector to a DB15HD female connector.

Drivers are available for Windows® 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Linux®.
