Victaulic Unveils Flexible Coupling for Its Installation-Ready Line

EASTON, PA - Victaulic, the world's leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems, today introduced the Style 177 QuickVic Flexible Coupling, an extension of its patented installation-ready product line. The new coupling features the same high-performance capabilities as existing standard flexible grooved couplings but installs in half the time. This line of technology-with no loose parts and no requirement to disassemble before installation-gives contractors, engineers and owners a competitive edge that is unmatched in the industry.

The Style 177 coupling is easily installed without the need to disassemble the bolts, nuts, gasket and housings making installation faster, easier and safer than any other-welded, flanged or standard grooved couplings. Crews can assemble a grooved joint by inserting the new installation-ready coupling onto the ends of a pipe, fitting, valve or accessory and tightening the nuts using standard hand tools or an impact gun. No loose components means a safer, cleaner and more efficient jobsite, where installers do not need to disassemble the coupling in order to install.
Additionally, because installation-ready couplings require fewer steps to install, the result is consistently faster pipe joints, which allows contractors to optimize crew size and better manage their labor risk.
The Style 177 coupling's centering bolt pad design offers metal-to-metal connection that gives a visual confirmation of proper installation.
The Style 177 coupling features a proprietary "EHP" gasket material for unmatched performance from -30°F to 250°F (-34°C to 121°C). The "EHP" gasket is geometrically optimized for unparalleled performance under pressure, heat, assembly, stress and relaxation.
The new coupling is suited for HVAC, utility piping, process piping and mining applications and is rated up to 1000psi/6900kPa. The Style 177 QuickVic flexible coupling is available in sizes 2"/50 mm, 2 ½"/65 mm, 3"/80 mm, 4"/100 mm, and 6"/150 mm and is designed for joining standard roll grooved and cut grooved steel pipe.
