Victaulic Extends its Exclusive Installation-Ready Line, Which Allows for Quick Installations of Piping Systems

The line gives contractors, engineers and owners an unmatched competitive edge, cutting installation time in half and making installations safer

EASTON, PA - Victaulic, the world's leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems, recently announced the addition of the Style 177 QuickVic® Flexible Coupling to its patented installation-ready product line. This line of technology, with no loose parts and no need to disassemble before installation, gives contractors, engineers and owners a competitive edge-cutting installation time in half and making installations safer-that is unmatched in the industry.

The installation-ready product line has been making piping system installations easier and quicker since 2005, when Victaulic released the Style 009 FireLock® EZ rigid coupling for fire protection applications. In 2007, Victaulic released the Style 107 QuickVic rigid coupling for HVAC, utility and process piping, and in 2008, the Style 607 QuickVic rigid coupling for potable water systems. Now, the line includes the Style 177 QuickVic coupling for flexible piping systems on HVAC, mining and utility and process piping.

"The installation-ready line is a direct response to our customers' needs to get their jobs done safely and efficiently," said Gary Moore, Executive Vice President of Victaulic. "This patented line of products is unique to Victaulic and helps our customers meet and beat their project schedules, offering a safer, flame-free solution, and reducing man hours."

Installation-ready technology is designed to address the industry's need to compress project schedules and remain competitive across applications such as fire protection, HVAC, mining, and plant and process piping. Installation-ready technology is the fastest and safest pipe-joining method currently available. The installation-ready coupling installs up to ten times faster than other pipe joining methods such as welding, brazing, soldering or flanging.

The single-unit design allows crews to assemble an installation-ready coupling by simply inserting it onto the grooved end of a pipe, fitting, valve or any other accessory, and tightening the nuts with standard hand tools or an impact wrench. There is no flame, noxious fumes or loose parts that can be lost or dropped, reducing material handling and thereby reducing risk of injury. No loose components translates to a safer, cleaner and more efficient jobsite.

Installation-ready couplings require fewer steps to install, resulting in consistently faster pipe joints, which allows contractors to optimize crew size and better manage their labor risk.

The installation-ready coupling features a proprietary "EHP" gasket material for unmatched performance from -30°F to 250°F (-34°C to 121°C). The "EHP" gasket is geometrically optimized for unparalleled performance under pressure, heat, assembly and stress relaxation.

The Style 177 coupling is suited for HVAC, utility piping, process piping and mining applications, and is rated up to 1000psi/6900kPa. The new coupling is available in sizes 2"/50 mm, 2 ½"/65 mm, 3"/80 mm, 4"/100 mm, and 6"/150 mm, and is designed for joining standard roll-grooved and cut-grooved steel pipe.
