Victaulic Announces Availability of 14-inch and 16-inch Tour and Andersson Valves

New valves provide owners, engineers and contractors more control and enhanced energy efficiency for large-diameter applications

EASTON, PA - Victaulic, the world's leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining systems and the exclusive North American distributor of Tour and Andersson (TA) products, now offers the TA Balancing Valve in 14- and 16-inch (350 and 400 mm) sizes for use in large-diameter applications with high flow requirements - the first-of-its-kind calibrated balancing valve in this size range. TA valves offer precise flow measurement, precision flow balancing, optimized energy efficiency, more stable temperatures and reduced energy costs.

Large diameter TA balancing valves are typically used in the main mechanical room on connections to chillers, pumps, distribution and main header piping for precise flow through the entire building.

TA balancing valves are adjusted manually to allow for very precise control of a system and provide isolation/ shut-off capabilities. They are easily adjusted if changes are needed in flow rates or load requirements. Due to precise Cv values and differential pressure measurement, these balancing valves are easy to set, reducing balancing time and costs. The valves can be pre-set for a specific flow rate with an estimated pressure drop that will provide a hydraulic system profile prior to actual system balancing. This allows balancing of the chillers, pumps and the entire system to proceed much quicker than other balancing methods.

"Victaulic now offers the most accurate balancing valve for large-diameter mechanical room applications," says Rodney McWhirteryoung, Tour and Andersson product manager for Victaulic. "The new valves help provide a comfortable indoor climate, are easy to set, and help minimize energy costs through precision balancing."

A balanced system optimizes system efficiency by supplying design flows for heating and cooling to all parts of the building. A balanced system also maintains comfortable, stable temperatures which reduce energy costs and allow for the operation of pumps and chillers at the lowest possible load, reducing the need for maintenance and extending equipment life.

Overall, Victaulic offers TA Balancing Valves in sizes ½"-2" with sweat and female threaded ends, 2 ½"-12" with grooved and flanged ends, and now 14"-16" in flanged ends only. Victaulic also offers a complete line of supply and return coil package components in ½"-2" sizes, as well as the new TA Differential Pressure Control valve for differential pressure stabilization in circuits.
