IMI Sensors Launches Echo® Wireless Vibration Monitoring System

Allows Monitoring Of Widely Distributed Sensors

Depew, NY - IMI Sensors, a division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc. introduces a revolutionary technology into the world of Predictive Maintenance, the new Echo® Wireless Vibration Monitoring System. A simple system requiring no gateways, mesh or repeaters, Echo® Wireless uses exclusive Extended Range Radio Frequency (ERRF) technology to transmit long distances in typical plant environments. Echo® transmits at only 0.75 mW Effective Radiated Power (ERP) in the unlicensed 900 MHz band and does not interfere with other wireless communications, including Wi-Fi.

The system consists of Echo® Wireless Vibration Sensors, the very economical EchoPlus® Wireless Junction Box, plus receiver and software. A lone Echo® Receiver is capable of accepting data from hundreds of sensors. The transmitted data set features overall vibration measurements scaled in acceleration, velocity, true peak and crest factor. Users can transmit data from existing analog ICP® accelerometers using the 8-channel EchoPlus® Wireless Junction Box. Echo® Monitoring Software allows PdM professionals to establish alarm values, plot vibration data over time, generate reports and provides email alerts.

Each Echo® Wireless Vibration Sensor can be programmed to transmit data at a pre-determined interval. Battery life exceeds five years when transmitting data three times per day. The EchoPlus® Wireless Junction Box can be powered by 24 VDC, without battery life limitations, or by a 6-13 VDC battery for remote applications. The Echo® System allows users to monitor the health of critical machinery more frequently and safely than walk around systems, while helping to reduce downtime and inefficiency. Using the alarm panel included in the Echo® Monitoring Software, PdM professionals can see the status of all monitored points at a glance and focus valuable manpower on analyzing faulty machines rather than taking data on healthy ones.
