Emerson's New Vibration Monitor Answers Call for Small, Critical Equipment Condition Monitoring Applications

4500-S from CSI Division extends the reach of 4500 Series RBMconsultant® family of vibration monitors.

KNOXVILLE, TN (December 4, 2001) - The new 4500-S online vibration monitor is the newest of the 4500 Series of RBMconsultant® products made by Computational Systems, Inc. (CSI), the mechanical equipment condition monitoring specialists of Emerson Process Management. The 4500-S (or Small) represents an economical solution to the need for smaller continuous monitoring applications associated with rotating equipment in power plants, petroleum production and processing facilities,
paper mills, waste water treatment facilities, cement production plants, and general manufacturing operations where the reliability of rotating equipment is critically important. These monitors are key to improving the reliability and maintenance of rotating equipment.

The 4500-S monitor is designed for applications requiring 12 or fewer signal channels, including 2 tachometers and 2 I/O relays. Utilizing the same multi-processor design as the larger 4500-R (or Racked), the 4500-S incorporates a number of important characteristics for online condition monitoring, including event-driven data collection, report-upon-exception alarms, local data reduction, and dual channel capability. Up to 16 MB of on-board data buffer memory enhances network fault tolerance when a plant LAN is not available. The event-driven data collection and exception-based reporting of the 4500 Series monitors is unique in the industry.

The 4500-S is housed in a compact stainless steel enclosure measuring 15 by 8 by 9 inches.
