Vibration-Dampening Legstands are used for optical tables.

Press Release Summary:

Available in 5 heights with optional braces and casters, 500 and 505 Series isolate optical tabletops from ambient building vibrations. Legstands in 500 Series feature rigid, non-isolated modular mounts, while those in 505 Series are fed by pressurized air source, making each leg its own permanent air chamber. Active-Air suspension system maintains tabletop at preset zero-deflection level and compensates for load changes. Both series support 500-2,000 lb per leg.

Vibration-Damping Legstands for Optical Tables

BOSTON, MA - Kinetic Systems offers a complete line of optical table support systems designed to isolate optical tabletops from ambient building vibrations caused by machinery, heating and ventilation systems, local truck or rail traffic, and other sources. They are available in five standard heights with load capacities ranging from 500 to 2000 lbs. per leg and optional braces and casters. Two basic designs are available - the 500 and 505 Series.

The 500 Series legstands are ideal for modest budgets or changing requirements. They feature rigid, non-isolated modular mounts (legs) that can be upgraded by adding Passive-Air(TM) vibration isolators (balloon-type omnidirectional airsprings), Active-Air(TM) vibration isolators, or Active-Air pendulum-style vibration isolator modules. Pendulum-style modules provide the lowest natural frequencies (≤0.9 Hz vertical and ≤0.75 Hz horizontal).

Legstands in the 505 Series provide superior vibration damping in extremely sensitive applications or in buildings plagued by severe vibration problems. Fed by a pressurized air source, each leg is a permanent air chamber. Kinetic Systems' proprietary Active-Air suspension system maintains the tabletop at a preset zero-deflection level and quickly compensates for load changes.

Kinetic Systems legstands provide highly damped support for their full line of optical tables. Kinetic Systems offers the industry's ultimate tabletop as well as tables that exceed the performance levels of competitive models in maximum dynamic deflection and maximum relative motion for all categories.
