viastore Systems' Implements Viad@tWMS at Three Viega Locations
GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN --- viastore systems, a leading automated material handling provider, has completed the installation of their viad@tWMS Warehouse Management System at three Viega US locations in addition to the automated installation for Viega in Niederwinkling, Germany.
Viega ran into a challenge with their current WMS when they decided to add automation to their facility in McPherson, Kansas where they now manufacture as well as distribute their plumbing components. They needed a WMS solution that could handle both the automated and manual operations in their facilities. Also, with their in house software developers they needed a WMS that was flexible enough to allow their staff to make changes and produce their own paperwork.
Viega had a relationship dating back to the 90's with viastore systems, GmbH and already had viad@t in their German facility. Finding that viad@t was not only robust but also very configurable they decided to implement viad@t at the three US facilities. viastore systems was able to offer one piece of software that is used across four different facilities with four different operations. Because viad@t comes in multiple languages when Viega Germany logs in they can view the software in German and likewise when the US users log in they can view viad@t in English.
viad@tWMS provided the flexibility Viega needed to control their new automated facility in McPherson as well as their conventional warehouses in Reno, NV and Merrimack, NH. viastore systems is a certified SAP integrator and viad@t is able to talk to both the SAP and shipping software that Viega already had in place.
Viega's in house staff of developers made the project very collaborative and the viastore team worked closely with them. This level of collaboration included training at viad@tAcademy to allow Viega to enhance the system in house. As a result implementation went very smooth with only one day of down time.
