Kurt® Introduces the New SideWinder(TM) Vise That Mounts to All New and Existing Kurt 6-Inch Vises - Provides Vertical Workholding for Second Operation Machining
Minneapolis, Minnesota: Kurt introduces the new SideWinder™ Vise that mounts to the back of all Kurt 6-inch and industry standard 6-inch vises. It provides vertical workholding for second operation machining in the same setup.
Designed to reduce setup time for second operation vertical machining, the new SideWinder vise improves throughput and productivity levels using existing machine tools and existing vises.
Featuring the original Kurt Anglock® design for decreasing jaw deflection, the new SideWinder vise distributes clamping force evenly and precisely across the full jaw surface. The Anglock® design in the moveable jaw (patented by Kurt) reduces jaw lift. It also features a round nut that controls deflection.
Additional SideWinder vise features include integral bracket with stabilization feature allowing mounting to the machine table on the movable end of the vise. It also has a workstop to position the height of the part. The elevated position of the SideWinder vise allows for longer reach machining and does not interfere with the operating envelope of the host vise.
Like all Kurt vises, the SideWinder vise has a robust, porosity-free, 80,000-PSI ductile iron body.
Specifications are: maximum jaw opening 2.500”, jaw width 2.500”, jaw height 1.063”, workstop adjustment range 0 to 4.313”, hex size 0.375”, hex length: 0.453”.
The SideWinder vise is designed for use with any industry standard 6-inch vise and for use on the latest machine tools including machining centers and knee-type mills.
