New Hardinge 50-Taper Spindle VMCs
Introduced at IMTS 2004, the new Hardinge VMC1250II-HT/50 and VMC1500II-HT/50 vertical machining centers feature a larger CAT-V 50-taper spindle. The high-torque spindle with ZF planetary gearbox provides a 347ft-lb/471-Nm torque rating at the 375-rpm base speed. The 25-hp/18.5-kW spindle drive provides speeds up to 6,000-rpm.
Also included as standard equipment on the 50-taper machines is a side-mount swing arm ATC (automatic tool changer) with capacity for 24 tools and a Fanuc Oi-MC control with swing-out pendent
The VMC1250II-HT/50 model has an X-axis travel of 50"/1270mm, whereas the VMC1500II-HT/50 X-axis travel is 60"/1524mm. Both models have a Y-axis travel of 26"/660mm and a Z-axis travel of 25"/635mm.
