Daewoo DMV 6030 Vertical Machining Center

HEAVY CUTTING...HIGH ACCURACY...FINE FINISHES

West Caldwell, NJ - The new Daewoo DMV 6030 vertical machining center from Doosan Infracore is an economical workhorse that's built to take heavy cuts in tough materials, and produce high accuracy with mirror finishes.

Exceptional rigidity is the hallmark of all Daewoo machines, and the DMV 6030 is no exception. Its massive one-piece bed and box-type column are constructed from fine-grain Meehanite, selected for its excellent dampening characteristics and heat dissipation. Wide box type guideways lend unsurpassed, long-term rigidity and accuracy. The guideways are induction hardened and precision ground. A fluoroplastic resin is bonded to the mating surfaces, and then hand scraped to ensure a perfect fit with ideal lubricant flow. The table is fully supported by the saddle in all positions, with no table overhang.

A cartridge-type spindle accepts heavy-duty CAT40 tooling. It's supported on both sides by six , permanently grease-lubricated, class P4 angular contact spindle bearings. The spindle is driven by a 35 Hp A.C. motor that imparts spindle speeds to 12,000 rpm, and an impressive 121 ft/lbs of torque. Power is transferred to the spindle by a heavy duty, cogged belt to eliminate slippage. A refrigerated spindle cooling system maintains a constant operating temperature.

The DMV 6030 is equipped with a heavy-duty 29.5" x 63" table with a 3,300 lb load capacity. It's moved along the X, Y, and Z axes by center mounted, double-pretensioned ball screws that are supported on each end by high precision, angular-contact thrust bearings. This design provides +/-0.00020" positioning accuracy and +/-0.00008" positioning repeatability with no thermal growth. Flexible couplings on each axis protect the ball screw from sudden impacts.

Tools are supplied by a 24-station (30 station optional), random memory, double-arm ATC.

The completely enclosed DMV 6030 confines chips and fluids to the machining area. Chips fall to a forward mounted chip pan for easy disposal. The 79 gallon coolant tank is isolated from the machine bed to prevent heat transfer. Through the spindle coolant and high volume flood coolant are both standard.

Travels for the DMV 6030 are 60" x 30" x 24.6" (X x Y x Z).

The Fanuc 21i controller is equipped with a PCMCIA card slot that replaces the older 3-1/2" floppy. Programs can be uploaded and downloaded, and also drip fed directly from the card. An embedded Ethernet function allows convenient exchange of NC programs, tool offset data, and system parameters between the controller and personal computers.
