Advanced laser technology increases picking accuracy rates
Kenilworth, NJ - FKI Logistex (LSE: FKI.L), a leading single-point supplier of integrated material handling solutions for distribution, baggage handling, freight, parcel, and manufacturing applications, announces the new Power Column(TM) 2 Vertical Lift Module (VLM), from its automated storage and retrieval systems experts, White Systems. The Power Column 2 features a tilt-tray that ergonomically tilts items at the rear of the tray toward the operator for faster, easier retrieval. Picking accuracy is enhanced using a unique laser pointer that directs the operator to the proper cell location.
The Power Column 2 employs a precision rack and pinion lift system that positions the trays continually for insertion and extraction without requiring adjustment. With a per tray capacity of up to 880 pounds and a tray width up to 100 inches the Power Column 2 is well suited for small parts storage. Adjustable dividers accommodate varying part sizes. A touch screen monitor and inventory control software complete the package.
