Dual Access MegaStar MegaLift VLM Connects Work Areas In Industrial Storage And Retrieval Applications
The dual access MegaLift Vertical Lift Module (VLM) from MegaStar Systems offers an efficient and cost effective means of connecting multiple work areas for increased productivity and throughput, plus improved inventory control in warehousing applications.
The MegaLift VLM is an enclosed system of vertically arranged trays, an ergonomically designed extraction platform, and computerized controls. Dual access MegaLift VLMs can be equipped with extraction platforms above and below or front and back to easily link separate areas, such as receiving and stocking areas,
for example, or production and shipping departments. Use of the dual access MegaLift VLM eliminates the need for costly conveyor or other materials handling systems to move items from one area to another, and helps fully automate industrial equipment work-in-progress operations.
The modular design of the MegaLift VLM allows it to be configured to meet varying ceiling heights, and, it can be installed to bridge two floors. With dual access capability, this configuration allows items to be stocked on one floor and removed on another. Multiple and redundant safety features provide additional employee protection during operation. The MegaLift VLM's small footprint and standalone design make it
especially suitable for point-of-use storage in industrial equipment operations, allowing more floor space to be used in value-added operations such as manufacturing and assembly. Depending on useable building interior heights, 75 percent and more of a conventional storage system's occupied floor space can be recovered.
The MegaLift VLM can store up to 550/2,000 lb. per tray with a total maximum payload of 44,000/88,000 lb. The MegaLift VLM travels at a vertical speed of 160 feet per minute and has a standard extraction speed of 15.75 inches per second. Its FlexiSpace feature allows random storage of products for optimum flexibility and the most efficient use of storage space.
Users can select a number of options to meet specific storage needs, including tray sizes up to 3,200 mm wide, forklift access to pallets stored in the unit, partitions, divider systems for compartmentalizing, and frame and divider systems to increase the wall heights of trays to store bulk quantities.
