Clean Room Vertical Carousels Save up to 75% Floor Space While Increasing Productivity in Warehousing Applications
The clean room vertical carousel from Remstar International Inc. provides cost effective high-density storage, queuing and buffering of items requiring Class 1 to 100,000 environments and connecting up to four workstations and/or bays.
Clean room vertical carousels provide quick-access storage to environmentally sensitive components via a system of vertically arranged rotating carrier shelves that bring the exact storage position to the operator. Because operators don't have to spend time hunting and searching areas to retrieve parts, productivity can increase by more than 2.5 times and up to 75% floor space savings when compared with shelving or racks.
Remstar clean room vertical carousels provide laminar airflow through the storage section of the unit. Clean air travels through the vertical carousel's perforated stainless steel carriers and is vented at the bottom of the unit to be re-circulated. Clean room vertical carousels can be installed directly in a clean room, adjacent to it or stationed independently for mini-environment applications. Carrier shelves can be configured to hold a variety of tote sizes, allowing the efficient storage of a wide range of components and devices such as medical devices, FOSBs, FOUPs, and tape and reel.
These vertical storage and retrieval units can be equipped with multiple access openings and automatic doors for pass-through operation and can be linked to multiple work areas with different levels of cleanliness requirements. They can also be used for floor-to-floor applications with access openings located up to three levels, increasing storage and retrieval flexibility.
The access area of the clean room vertical carousel is ergonomically designed to present stored items at an ideal height for picking, about waist level. This location of the access area contributes to employee safety and improved productivity when compared with bending and climbing associated with conventional bin shelving and mezzanines. Access to the clean room vertical carousel can be controlled for added security, improved inventory control and operator accountability in critical applications.
Clean room vertical carousels also offer improved space utilization. Depending on useable building interior heights, up to 75 percent of a conventional storage system's occupied floor space can be recovered.
