Verizon Launches Machine to Machine Management Center to Help Enterprises Manage Connected Devices

nPhase-Enabled Web Portal Designed to Simplify Process for Wirelessly Monitoring and Maintaining Machine to Machine Connections

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., and SAN FRANCISCO - From CTIA Enterprise & Applications(TM) 2010, Verizon today announced the availability of a new solution designed to help enterprise customers realize a new level of performance by giving them near real-time access to monitor wireless devices and by seamlessly connecting machines, people and information throughout the enterprise. The Machine to Machine Management Center, to be launched later this month, will give enterprise customers tools to implement new business models, improve time-to-market, reduce operating costs, track key performance indicators, and enhance aftermarket services.

The Machine to Machine Management Center allows enterprises to connect any device to back-office or field service applications or infrastructure over the secure and reliable Verizon Wireless network. Customers can access an integrated dashboard to manage network connections, self-service device management, and other key elements of machine to machine connectivity. Customers can access the solution directly through Verizon's MyBusiness or the Verizon Enterprise Center, or through customers' business-specific applications, developed using nPhase's unified Web services SDK (software developer kit).

"We've been trialing the new software platform on the Verizon Wireless network for connecting our Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Devices (BAIID) to public safety authorities," said Dave Arringdale, president and chief executive officer of Consumer Safety Technology, Inc. "The trials have been successful, and we will be integrating the solution into our back-office systems through the nPhase unified Web services so that we can automate and manage our M2M processes with a single standard system."

"Machine to Machine represents growth opportunities for our customers by connecting their products and devices throughout the enterprise," said John Stratton, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Verizon Wireless. "Our Machine to Machine Management Center will remove the complexities and simplify the process, while leveraging Verizon's leading network and Machine to Machine expertise, all in a single, standard, easy-to-use interface."

"Machine to Machine solutions typically involve business critical applications where failure or downtime is not acceptable," said Steve Pazol, president of nPhase. "nPhase is committed to providing the best solutions and best-in-class performance on reliability and results for our customers."

This solution is a product of nPhase, LLC, the joint venture established last summer between Qualcomm Incorporated and Verizon Wireless. The joint venture was designed to leverage Qualcomm's advanced connectivity technologies and Verizon's expertise and simplified device certification process and to deliver seamless, fully integrated machine to machine communications with global connectivity.
