New, Modular-Design AAF®-HermanNelson® Unit Ventilator Provides Easy Access to Reduce Maintenance Costs

Larger coils improve operating efficiency

Minneapolis, MN-The modular design of the new AAF®-HermanNelson® Model AV unit ventilator from McQuay® allows easy access for cleaning and servicing, which helps reduce maintenance costs to maintain peak performance. Higher capacity cooling coils help reduce energy costs, improve comfort and can provide quieter operation.

The unit's modular design components include a one-piece welded frame for long-term structural strength and a modular fan section that can be removed as one piece to service fan section components or to access the modular coil section for cleaning. The drain pan slopes left or right for installation flexibility and is made from non-corrosive materials to promote superior IAQ. A secondary drain connection is standard to help meet local or state building code requirements.

A larger coil size increases cooling capacity by eight to ten percent over current models. This allows cooling requirements to be satisfied with a smaller unit, or with the same size unit operating at a lower fan speed for quieter operation. The larger coil size also lowers the water pressure drop so that a smaller pump is required. This reduces both the first cost and operating cost of the unit.

AAF-HermanNelson unit ventilators use GentleFlo(TM) Air Moving Technology, face-and-bypass damper air control, and a draw-through design to deliver the quiet, reliable cooling required in today's classrooms. An extra-sturdy chassis and scruff-resistant finish provide the units with the long-term durability to withstand the rigors of the classroom environment.

MicroTech II(TM) unit controllers with McQuay's Protocol Selectability(TM) feature make it easy to integrate these units into a school's building automation system of choice using BACnet® or LonTalk® protocol. Factory-integrated controls streamline installation and can significantly lower job costs.
