Vent Filter utilizes indicating desiccant.

Press Release Summary:

Supplied on all vented gage transducers, KPSI™ 810 SuperDry™ Vent Filter features silica gel desiccant material with cobalt chloride indicator. Measuring 6.0 in. long with 0.75 in. diameter, filter utilizes indicating desiccant to prevent moisture from entering vent tube and damaging transducers with vented gage reference pressure format. Customer will see color change from blue to pink when desiccant material is saturated and needs to be replaced.

Original Press Release:

Improvements to the KPSI(TM) 810 SuperDry(TM) Vent Filter

Measurement Specialties, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEAS) has changed the desiccant material in the KPSI 810 SuperDryTM Vent Filter.  The new material is a silica gel with a cobalt chloride indicator.  Our testing indicates the moisture protection properties of this material are superior to the older crystalline material.  During field trials, we have experienced a much longer product life at the same humidity conditions.  Customers will still see the color change from blue to pink as an indicator the desiccant material is saturated and needs to be replaced.

Vent Filters provide the highest accuracy capability and utilize indicating desiccant to prevent moisture from entering the vent tube and damaging transducers with vented gage reference pressure format. All vented gage transducers are shipped with our SuperDry™ Vent Filter. This vent filter design prevents moisture from entering the vent tube for at least one year without maintenance, at no additional cost. The vent filters are 6.0 in (15.3 cm) long with a 0.75" diameter.

Measurement Specialties, Inc. designs and manufactures sensors and sensor-based systems.
