A unique, non-corroding vehicle sensor from Tapeswitch Corporation provides a contact closure when depressed at any point. Made from extruded PVC which has been UV stabilized and double sealed, it is immune to messy weather and harsh environmental conditions. The flexible housing makes it suitable for mounting on contoured or irregular surfaces. When floor-mounted, it can perform as a vehicle counting or detection device. When wall- or dock-mounted, it can signal vehicle contact.
Applications include vehicle or axle counting, floor-mounted emergency stops, vehicle positioning, and intrusion detection. A four-wire, fail-safe version is available to ensure circuit integrity in applications requiring high-reliability. This black and yellow, high-visibililty switch has a nominal operating force of 20 lbs and comes in lengths up to 16 feet.
