Advantech Launches the Next Generation of Vehicle Mounted Computers
Irvine, California, July 30, 2007 - Advantech is launching TREK-775 and TREK-776, the latest generation of vehicle mounted computers. Both are wireless units with a rugged design, ideal for customers looking for optimal performance in the supply chain and logistics sectors.
TREK-775 and TREK-776 enable secure wireless connectivity in supply chain management for data processing in logistics management, warehouse inventory control, distribution accounting, ports and yard freight management. These vehicle mounted computers offer a powerful wireless data link for forklifts, trucks and container crane operations.
Full PC Functionality
TREK-775 and TREK-776 feature a powerful Intel® LV Pentium® M 1.1 GHz or ULV Celeron® M 600 MHz processor. They also offer a selection of Microsoft® Windows® XP Embedded, XP and Windows® Embedded CE 5.0 operating systems, allowing for complete PC functionality. Various I/O ports, such as serial RS232, Ethernet and two USB host ports, are available to easily connect peripherals like bar code devices, RFID scanners and printers-all by means of cost-efficient, standard connectors.
Wireless connectivity
TREK-775 and TREK-776 offer multiple options and complete versatility, ensuring seamless network connectivity. Wireless LAN cards or GPRS devices can be easily integrated to provide users with real-time access to warehouse management tools, assuring rapid data capture and analysis.
Reliable for Operation
A uniquely designed vibration and shock dampening solution protects rotating drive applications. An industrial-grade solid state solution is available for the most demanding environments, even allowing operation in freezing temperatures. In order to operate seamlessly through the "cold crank" ignition period of vehicle start-ups, the new TREK series tolerates a wide input-voltage range, from 6V to 48V, helping to avoid unwanted system resets, surges and failures.
Rugged and Tested Design
The TREK series' die cast aluminum housing has received an IP65 seal rating, one of the highest standards available, and guarantees that the computers will withstand the harshest environments where dust, moisture and/or extreme temperatures are constant factors.
High Resolution Display
With touch screen capabilities and colorful graphics, both units are extremely user-friendly. A key feature of TREK-776 is the high resolution 12.1 inch XGA (1024 x 768) screen. It is able to support leading warehouse management applications without additional adaptors to support the interface. TREK-775 comes with a 10.4 inch SVGA display that is readable in all lighting conditions. A day-light readable display is also available for convenient viewing in direct sunlight.
