Vectron International Launches Series of Fully Integrated High-Frequency Solutions for Customers in Wireless Industries

Latest Frequency Control Innovations Also Meet Customer Demands for Miniaturization for Applications Demanding Exceptional Close-In Phase Noise Performance

MUNICH, GERMANY, Nov. 13/- Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced the launch of three new FR4-based frequency control products to allow customers to reduce design complexity and costs. The VX-501 dual voltage controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) has the tightest phase noise available in a 9x14 mm package; the FX-701 frequency translator has the smallest package available on the market; and the TX-702 high frequency Stratum 3 temperature controlled crystal oscillator (TCXO) has the highest frequency capabilities in a 5x7 mm package. By offering complete solutions in miniaturized packages, the integrated features of these products offer reduced cost and complexity for customers in the wireless market. In addition, they offer flexibility for test & measurement, medical and military customers. All three products will be showcased in Hall B5, Booth 237 at electronica 2008, from November 11 to 14.

"Vectron provides customers with the largest breadth of products in the precision timing space, and is committed to continual innovation and the industry's highest levels of investment in research and development to support demand for more flexibility and lower costs in industries that are becoming increasingly competitive and complex," said Alan Mond, vice president, Global Sales Vectron International. "These product introductions all help us to meet customers' ever evolving needs for smaller components and tighter phase noise at higher frequencies, while maintaining Vectron's standards for high quality."

The new VX-501 dual VCXO has two independent, selectable output frequencies from 20 to 700 MHz and the tightest phase noise available of any miniature, 9x14 mm VCXO on the market today. A complete solution, this product allows wireless designers to manufacture the board with one common BOM for all frequency bands, reducing the overall design complexity. The customer can design a base station for different frequency bands and select the frequency by software. In emerging wireless applications, sampling rates are increasing for wider bandwidths; therefore a clean reference clock with good phase noise is needed. The output signal is LVPECL and the supply voltage is 3.3 V. Typical phase noise is -90 dBc/Hz @ 100 Hz.

Vectron's FX-701 has input frequencies from 2 to 65 MHz and can be converted into output frequencies in the range of 10 to 185 MHz. Designed in a 5 x 7 mm package, the FX-701 saves space and reduces complexity, allowing customers to further miniaturize their systems. The new frequency translator offers the best phase noise performance at this size. Typical phase noise is -103 dBc/Hz @ 100 Hz. The output signal supported is LVCMOS and the supply voltage is 3.3 V.

Vectron's TX-702 high frequency TCXO operates at the highest frequencies available in a 5x7 mm package, up to 800 MHz with a stability of +/-280 ppb from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. It meets Stratum 3 requirements for stability in wireline applications (GR-1244). The TX-702 features low jitter, 0.56 ps RMS (12 kHz to 20 MHz) at 622.08 MHz, has output signals LVPECL and LVDS, and the supply voltage is 3.3 V.
