Vectron International Is First to Market with the World's Lowest Profile Double Oven; Also Introduces the C4550 OCXO with the LPP TO-8 Crystal

New Enhancements Provide Customers with Proven Performance in Smaller Packages

MUNICH, Germany, Nov. 14 -- Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced that it has reduced the height of its C4700 ultra high stability double oven crystal oscillator (DOCXO) to 17 mm, making it the lowest profile DOCXO on the market. The company also introduced its C4550 oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) in a lower cost, 25mm x 25mm package with an LPP TO-8 crystal for better aging, g- sensitivity and temperature test performance. With the smaller C4550 platform customers can now achieve all the higher performance parameters previously available in the larger Eurocase package. The company is showcasing both products in Hall B5, booth 237 at electronica 2006, from November 14-17.

"As a trusted vendor and preferred partner who invests the industry's highest percentage of sales into research and development, Vectron prides itself on meeting the demands of its customers," said Alan Mond, Vice President of Global Sales, Vectron. "These new enhancements to our existing, high quality DOCXO and OCXO offerings provide leading wireless infrastructure, military and test equipment companies with the same performance they have come to expect from Vectron but in revolutionary smaller packages, and further demonstrate our commitment to delivering leading-edge products to market."

High stability oscillators are typically the largest component in customers' systems. At just 17mm, the C4700 DOCXO is more stable than a single oven with an available frequency range of 4 MHz to 15 MHz and temperature stabilities down to 0.2 ppb from 0 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. The C4700 is targeted for the stringent frequency stability requirements needed for CDMA and UMTS applications. It is also RoHS lead free compliant.

The smaller 25x25 mm C4550 package is possible because of Vectron's new internally developed surface mount low profile packaged (LPP) TO-8 crystal, making it the best performing OCXO in this size range. The C4550 with the LPP has an available frequency range of 5 MHz to 100 MHz and temperature stabilities down to 5 ppb from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. The proven performance of the TO-8 crystal achieves typical aging rates of 30 ppb/year and g-sensitivities less than 1ppb/g.
