New High-Resolution Laser Coder Marks Products in Demanding Environments
Arlington Heights, IL-Weber Marking Systems, Inc., has announced the availability of its high-speed SolarJet HD vector laser coder, a unit that is specifically designed to provide very high-resolution marking on products and packages found in wet, dusty, and/or dirty environments.
Permanent text, bar codes, and graphics as small as 0.020" high can be marked on substrates like paper, cardboard, foils, coated metals, plastics, wood, glass, and more. The 50-watt, CO2 laser system is capable of marking up to 1,000 characters per second at product delivery speeds of up to 1,060 feet per minute. The SolarJet HD provides a solution to high-speed marking in conditions where other methods could result in frequent maintenance.
The versatile system offers a selection of five lenses that allows marking fields from 2.0" to 7.8" square. The SolarJet HD is useful in industries like food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and others, and is ideally suited to the wet environment of the beverage industry.
The marking unit integrates with a sealed, stainless steel controller mounted on a floor stand, and meets NEMA 4/IP64 specifications. It comes complete with FlyMark software, which eases message creation. Numerous options - including a chiller and fume/dust extractor - ensure that the system can fit into nearly any packaging or handling line.
