Vecima to Demonstrate Next-Generation Cable and Wireless Solutions at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo

VICTORIA, June 13 - Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX:VCM), leading Last Mile Solution® provider for broadband wireless and broadband wired networks, announces that it will demonstrate its latest cutting-edge cable and wireless product lines June 20-22 in Booth #549 at the 2007 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.

HyperQAM(TM) for Wideband Data, Switched Digital Video and DOCSIS 3.0 Applications

The HyperQAM(TM) is a high-availability, Universal Edge QAM featuring DRFI compliant RF modules and a seamless, software upgradeable platform. Designed to support roadmap technologies such as Switched Digital Video, M-CMTS and DOCSIS 3.0, the HyperQAM(TM) is a powerful and reliable addition to any headend. Offering industry leading density - 128 QAM in 2 rack units - the highly compact design allows service providers to do more with less. The scaleable platform permits outputs to be added in increments of 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8. The HyperQAM(TM) is exceptionally reliable, with N+1 redundant, hot swappable output modules, program-level input redundancy and independently field replaceable cooling fans. Internal dual redundant, field replaceable power supplies contribute to a highly available system. The HyperQAM(TM) Edge QAM is the ideal solution for operators looking to accelerate the deployment of next-generation features, reducing churn while simplifying their headend with an all-in-one solution.

VistaLynx Edge QAM for Video on Demand Services;
CableVista(TM) Edge Decoder for Digital Simulcast

The Vecima Networks CableVista(TM) Edge Decoder and VistaLynx Edge QAM devices showcase a leading-edge, cost effective simulcast system, helping operators move their channel lineups to the edge, speeding the transition to all-digital. The CableVista(TM) decodes up to 24 digital video streams into analog NTSC signals, while the VistaLynx allows operators to select their digital channel lineups at the edge of the HFC network. The CableVista(TM) and the VistaLynx are both key elements in a digital simulcast network.

The CableVista(TM) is a one rack unit Edge Decoder capable of decoding multiple MPEG-2 digital video streams to analog NTSC or baseband signals. It can provide up to 24 RF, 12 Baseband or 6 Off-Air Phase Lock outputs in a single chassis; output cards can be mixed-and-matched to suit the operator's individual site requirements. The CableVista(TM) features 1+1 power supply and input link redundancy, program-level input redundancy, and N+1 output redundancy, allowing superior flexibility. Hot swappable output modules, power supplies and fans add to the CableVista's industry leading reliability. The CableVista(TM) has been approved by all major Multiple Service Operators in the United States.

The VistaLynx Edge QAM is a high density, GbE to QAM gateway that offers high performance operation for Video on Demand (VOD) services. Featuring 24 QAM channels in 1 rack unit, the VistaLynx is ideal for cable operators requiring cost effective solutions for their digital video services. The exceptional modularity allows for a pay-as-you-grow philosophy while dual power supplies, 1+1 input redundancy and hot-swap ability provide superior reliability. The VistaLynx is the ideal solution for operators looking to offer next-generation VOD services while minimizing capital outlay.

Wireless Solutions for Broadband Plant Extensions and Quadruple Play Services

The WaveRider Last Mile Solution by Vecima Networks is the world's most advanced non-line of sight (NLOS) broadband wireless system, designed specifically for the 900 MHz spectrum. WaveRider offers a self-installable indoor CPE, a ruggedized outdoor CPE and a mobile unit for in-vehicle use. WaveRiders' robust 4.9 GHz and 5.8 GHz point to point and point to multipoint radios are ideal for operators requiring up to 108 Mbps for high-throughput backhaul applications. With over 70,000 units deployed, operators have come to rely on WaveRider products for superior performance and reliability.

As a leader in the WiMAX industry, Vecima is pleased to offer the VistaMAX(TM) lineup of products based upon the IEEE 802.16d wireless standard. Using Time Division Duplexing to maximize spectral efficiency and an OFDM air interface to enable true NLOS connectivity, the VistaMAX(TM) solution provides up to 22 Mbps of throughput in a 7 MHz channel. In addition to carrier-class base stations and outdoor subscriber stations, the VistaMAX(TM) product family also offers a picocell base station. The picocell is ideal for use as a signal repeater, or as a cost effective solution to provide service to a smaller, localized subscriber base. With over a decade of experience in the wireless industry, Vecima has sold WiMAX units globally with deployments on five continents. VistaMAX(TM) products are currently available for the 1.9 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands with a 5 GHz version planned as well as numerous other frequency bands.

About Vecima Networks

Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX:VCM) designs, manufactures and sells products that enable broadband access to cable, wireless and telephony networks. Vecima's hardware products incorporate original embedded software to meet the complex requirements of next-generation, high-speed digital networks. Service providers use Vecima's solutions to deliver services to a converging worldwide broadband market, including what are commonly known as "triple play" (voice, video and data) and "quadruple play" (voice, video, data and wireless) services. Vecima's solutions allow service providers to rapidly and cost-effectively bridge the final network segment that connects the system directly to end users, commonly referred to as "the last mile", by overcoming the bottleneck resulting from insufficient carrying capacity in legacy, last mile infrastructures. Vecima's products are directed at three principal markets: Data over Cable, Broadband Wireless and Digital Video. The Company has also developed and continues to focus on developing products to address emerging markets such as Voice over Internet Protocol, fibre to the home and IP video.
