Vacuum Infusion: An Alternative to the Traditional

Strength, weight, consistency and economics - four of the most important factors when deciding how to produce a fiberglass part. Vacuum infusion offers a production solution that addresses these concerns. Most importantly, the resin infusion can be controlled and regulated to lower the resin content of the part. This results in a stronger and lighter weight product.

Parts are more consistent when produced by vacuum infusion. This is because the process and materials become more predictable. It is easier to gauge resin amounts and materials since the human element has been removed.

Vacuum infusion can mean cost savings. It is a leaner manufacturing method because materials and time can be more accurately estimated. Also, any issues which occur after the vacuum bag has been engaged can be corrected until the time the resin is introduced causing fewer reworks and scrapped parts.

Vacuum infusion is a cleaner process for both the environment and employees. There are lower emissions and less cumbersome protective gear is required for employees.
