UV/Vis Light-Curable Masking Resin reduces processing time.

Press Release Summary:

Providing surface protection during aggressive chemical exposures and thermal processes, SpeedMask® 750-SC cures on demand and conserves labor efforts when used as alternative to manual taping or latex-based maskants. Purple uncured state enables placement confirmation, and transition to pink provides visual confirmation of full cure. Resin holds shape after application by either spray or dispense equipment and cures tack free. Removal is accomplished through peeling or incineration.

Original Press Release:

Durable, Cure-on-Demand Maskant Reduces Processing Time

Formulated to Resist High Temperatures and Harsh Chemicals

Torrington, Connecticut – Dymax Corporation has introduced SpeedMask® 750-SC, a UV/Visible light-curable masking resin featuring both temperature and chemical resistance.  It’s formulated to provide excellent surface protection during aggressive chemical exposures and thermal processes such as sulfuric acid exposure, plasma spray, some HVOF processes, and aggressive grit blasting.  Additionally, this maskant can maintain adhesion during some CNC grinding and machining applications.  It cures on demand and saves hours of processing time when used as an alternative to labor-intensive manual taping or latex-based maskants with long cure cycles.

Formulated with patented See-Cure technology, 750-SC is purple in an uncured state, enabling automated vision systems and manual operations to confirm placement prior to cure.  As the product cures with sufficient light energy, its purple color transitions to pink and provides obvious visual confirmation that the maskant is fully cured.

SpeedMask 750-SC holds its shape after application by either spray or dispense equipment.  It cures tack free for quicker handling, is easily removed through peeling or incineration, and leaves no residue after removal on non-porous surfaces. 750-SC is recommended for reliable surface protection for components manufactured from nickel alloys, titanium alloys, and cobalt chrome.
