New Ametek UV Process Photometer Provides Reiliable Process and QA Monitoring in a Variety of Hazardous Applications

Model 931 Single-Gas Analyzer Offers Rugged Field-Proven Performance

CALGARY, Alberta - The new Western Research Model 931 Analyzer from AMETEK Process Instruments is a rugged, single-component UV photometric gas analyzer housed in an explosion-proof package designed for a variety of gas monitoring and process control applications.

Whether monitoring feed-gases to a processing unit, detecting impuritiies for QA or performing emissions monitoring, the Model 93l Analyzer is the best choice for reliable single-species measurements in hazardous applications. Common applications include the measurement of high concentrations of H2S for feed-forward control of a sulfur recovery unit (SRU) and monitoring of sour natural gas pipelines.

Using AMETEK's proprietary high-resolution UV technology, the Model 931 is a flexible, low-maintenance analyzer designed to cost-effectively solve many process control and monitoring issues. The analyzer is available with a heated cell option to
avoid sample condensation. An optional, fully integrated AMETEK Process Instruments sample system ensures reliable sample handling and conditioning.

The Model 931 has no moving parts. It uses a fixed optical configuration with pulsed hollow-cathode UV lamps, instead of a filter/chopper wheel to alternate between measure and reference wavelengths. This design leads to higher reliability and reduced
maintenance in addition to improved analytical performance. The dual-beam configuration, combined with a reference measurement, ensures low-noise performance with minimal baseline and span drift.

The Model 931 is one of a family of process analyzers offered by AMETEK Process Instruments that includes the Model4000 UV-Vis Process Photometer, the Model 3050-OLV Trace Moisture Analyzer, and process analyzer suites for sulfur recovery and natural gas processing. AMETEK Process Instruments is a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange-listed company (NYSE: AME), a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electric motors with annual sales of $1 billion.
