Super-Powerful UV Lamps Detect Even Pinhole-Size Leaks



Westbury, New York - Spectronics Corporation has recently developed two new ultraviolet lamps than enable HVAC/R technicians to quickly see all leaks in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. The MAXIMA(TM) ML-3500D and ML-3500FL use advanced Micro Discharge Light (MDL) technology, plus a unique filter and bulb/reflector assembly, to produce up to 10 times more UV-A (365nm) than conventional 100-watt or 150-watt lamps.

The MAXIMA ML-3500D model features a spot bulb and diffusing filter that produces a steady-state intensity of 14,000 µW/cm² at 15 inches (38cm) while the MAXIMA ML-3500FL configuration uses a flood bulb that delivers a steady-state intensity of 4,5000 µW/cm² at 15 inches. With either of these lamps, HVAC/R technicians can spot each and every refrigerant leak faster than ever - even in direct daylight! The lamps' "instant on" operation further reduces inspection time.

The MAXIMA ML-3500D and ML-3500FL lamps are available in 120V and 230V AC versions. Also available are 12 volt DC versions of each lamp that include a rechargeable battery that will operate the lamp for two full hours.
