UV Curing System operates in power class of 500 watts/in.

Press Release Summary:

Six inch Light Hammer 6 consists of 2 modular components: microwave-irradiator and solid-state power supply. Electrode-less bulb, mounted in elliptical reflector, focuses intense strip of light 2.1 in. below surface of lamp. System repeatedly cycles from high power to very low power over a few seconds. Power output from 25 to 100 percent is controlled from front panel or remotely through analog signal or contact closure.

New 6-Inch UV Curing System Available From Fusion UV Systems, Inc.

GAITHERSBURG, MD, DECEMBER 19, 2001- Fusion UV Systems, Inc. announces the release of a new high-powered, six-inch (150mm) lamp system - the Light Hammer(TM) 6. Operating in the power class of 500 watts/inch (200 watts/cm), the Light Hammer 6 brings all of the benefits of microwave-powered UV Curing and features two easy-to-service modular components: the microwave irradiator and an all new, state-of-the-art, solid-state power supply. At the heart of the microwave technology is the electrode-less bulb mounted in an elliptical reflector for focusing an intense strip of light 2.1-inches (53.3mm) below the surface of the lamp.

The high voltage circuit inside the power supply consists of a solid-state, switching engine. This significantly extends the life of the magnetron by supplying a constant DC source of
power to the lamp. The super-efficient, solid-state electronics run cooler --saving money on power, reducing environmental noise and space requirements. Power output from 25% to 100% can easily be controlled from the front panel or remotely through an analog signal or contact closure, and permits the interconnection of multiple systems.

Integration of the lamp into processes, which require a rapid on/off cycle, is now realized without the use of a bulky, mechanical shutter. The Light Hammer(TM) 6 can repeatedly cycle
from high power to very low power over a few seconds. Shutters are not required, owing to the fast response of the lamp to control demand.

The ultimate benefit of the Light Hammer(TM) 6 is the achievement of higher degrees of conversion than is typically achieved with AC powered light sources.

Fusion UV systems, Inc. is the leading manufacturer of UV curing equipment for inks, coatings and adhesives in a wide range of industries including automotive, electronics, graphics arts,
medical bonding, and packaging. UV Curing is an environmentally responsible process widely viewed as a 21st century technology.
