First Microwave-Powered 3-Inch UV-Curing System

GAITHERSBURG, MD, DECEMBER 19, 2001 - Fusion UV Systems, Inc. announces the release of the first three- inch microwave-powered lamp system - the PowerCure(TM) 3. Operating in the power class of 250 watts/inch (100 watts/cm), the PowerCure 3 brings all of the benefits of microwave-powered UV Curing to an economical and highly versatile package. The easy to use PowerCure 3 can be used in a wide variety of environments from lab to production and provides many performance features found only in more expensive systems.

The compact design of the PowerCure 3(TM) allows for easy installation in terms of space, weight and orientation. The PowerCure 3 can be used in a focused (10mm) or out-of focused distance and fits into the Fusion's Lab Conveyor (LC6) system for continuous curing applications. The PowerCure is lightweight enough to fit in an X-Y table and requires a minimal amount of air for positive pressure cooling.

The PowerCure 3(TM) is available with the popular D-bulb and achieves rapid startup using new proprietary technology that does not require a separate igniter bulb. Full cure width and consistent output is maintained throughout the life of the bulb. Microwave-powered electrodeless lamp systems are the only true choice where minimal down time, minimum maintenance, and maximum product outputs are key performance requirements.

The power supply shares the same strong technology as found in other Fusion UV's products. A sophisticated microprocessor control system allows multiple lamp systems to be interconnected and controlled individually or as a group.

Fusion UV systems, Inc. is the leading manufacturer of UV curing equipment for inks, coatings and adhesives in a wide range of industries including automotive, electronics, graphics arts, medical bonding, and packaging. UV Curing is an environmentally responsible process widely viewed as a 21st century technology.
