USB Support Now Offered with EMC Emission and Immunity Testing Software from Schaffner

EDISON, N.J., September 2006 -- Schaffner Test Systems, a leading developer and provider of EMC instrumentation and test systems, today announced that its Compliance 3 emission and immunity test software now supports instruments with a USB interface.

USB interface support in Compliance 3 version 3.90 will allow users to invest in new, lower-cost instruments that do not require a GPIB (general purpose interface bus) card in the controlling PC. The USB interface has several advantages over GPIB. It utilizes smaller, more flexible cables, has fewer cable length restrictions and enables multiple instruments to be easily connected via hubs.

Schaffner's Compliance 3 is the leading software for RF EMC testing. It is used in many test laboratories worldwide to deliver accurate, repeatable and traceable results in commercial, military, automotive and medical tests. In addition, Compliance 3's open architecture and flexible design make it highly customizable, enabling users to incorporate complex hardware configurations, define custom test sequences, write device drivers for virtually any instrument and create unique report formats.

Schaffner provides a library of standard pre-defined tests and has made all existing instrument drivers available as free downloads from the Web, making Compliance 3 both powerful and easy-to-use. Additional features such as user access control and test lock down ensure accurate results and data security.

Compliance 3 also features a key word translator that enables it to be displayed in any language that is supported by Windows.

Pricing for Compliance 3 version 3.90 with USB support starts at $10,900 and includes one day of on-site training and software integration. Delivery is 2-4 weeks ARO.
