USB H.264 A/V Codec includes GPS, incremental encoder interfaces.

Press Release Summary:

Powered from single USB port, Model 2253P can simultaneously produce 2 different video streams from one composite input and send them out via USB. Video and audio are available as elementary streams or may be multiplexed in MP4 container format. Also, product can perform as decoder — converting compressed A/V stream into analog video and audio signals — and offers closed-caption support for H.264 streams. GPS receiver and 2 incremental encoder interfaces are accessible via 2 RJ-45 sockets.

Sensoray Introduces, USB H.264 A/V Codec with GPS and Incremental Encoder Interfaces

Tigard, OR — The newly released Model 2253P is a compact and robust USB-compatible audio/video codec that is powered from a single USB port. The unit is capable of simultaneously producing two different video streams from its single composite input and sending the streams out over USB. Video and audio are available as elementary streams or may be multiplexed in MP4 container format.

The Model 2253P can also perform as a decoder, converting the compressed audio/video stream into standard analog video and audio signals, as well as offering closed-caption support for H.264 streams. It is well-suited for uncompromising capture of various video sources, such as video pipeline inspection, radar and sonar processing, remote video surveillance and traffic monitoring.

The Model 2253P features a GPS receiver and two incremental encoder interfaces accessible through two RJ-45 sockets. Each multifunction interface can be independently configured to operate as an incremental encoder interface or as two digital inputs. When a port is configured as dual digital inputs, each of the inputs can optionally be used to pause/resume capture of a video stream.

Encoder counts, GPS data and GPIO input states can be read via the API functions. If desired, overlay images, text, encoder counts and GPS data can be displayed on top of the recorded streams, preview, or composite video output.  Up to 160 characters of overlay text may be positioned anywhere in the video frame prior to compression.

Sensoray provides an SDK for the Model 2253P that includes drivers, programming examples and comprehensive documentation for both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Pricing

The price for a single unit for the Model 2253P is $475. Additional price breaks are available. The optional external antenna for GPS (2253P-Antenna) can be purchased for $14.
