Original Press Release:

Mighty Cam is the Next Generation in USB Digital Cameras

ANN ARBOR, MI — Significant technology advances distinguish the latest USB digital camera from Aven, Inc. The Mighty Cam model features a 5M CMOS sensor that provides excellent color fidelity offering true color out of the box with no need for adjustment. The versatile C/CS lens mount converts a CS-mount lens to the C-mount camera to achieve a focused image for testing inspectors, scientific image analysts, biomedical researchers and other professionals who need a wide dynamic range and crisp, natural color reproduction in any lighting.

The easy plug and play USB 2.0 interface (without built-in buffer) uses less system resources and makes dramatic breakthroughs in stable, high-resolution image transmission speed and color reproduction with full resolution view of 2592 x 1944 pixels.

“The new Mighty Cam is a breakthrough in CMOS sensor technology,” says Aven president Mike Shahpurwala. “Its ultra-low noise and high sensitivity makes it ideal for scientific applications. The Mighty Cam comes complete with professional image capture software.”

Images can be saved in four formats or as AVI video files with the included EZ Measure software, which has a broad range of management and processing functions for Windows or Mac users. EZ Measure helps create written reports that include captured images, analysis and raw data. The software also features measurement tools that set the image pixels to real units of measure e.g. mm or inches. Simultaneous live views are also possible with EZ Measure when you connect two cameras on the same workstation for side-by-side comparison views. Video is recorded at 6 frames per second at full resolution (2592 x 1944), which is comparable to high-definition television quality.

“This sophisticated microscopy accessory adds efficiency and precision for applications in aerospace, medical imaging, R&D and quality assurance,” says Shahpurwala.
