Standard implementations support USB 2.0 extension up to 100m over Cat5 and up to 10km over fibre optics.

"The Core 2100 Modules represent a major milestone in the evolution of Icron's ExtremeUSB solutions. From simple Cat5 and Fibre optic extension solutions to highly customized embedded applications, the Core 2100 modules are flexible enough to meet the individual needs of our customers," states Bill De Vries, Icron Technologies Product Marketing Manager. "Along with adding features and performance, we have reduced board area requirements by over 66% and reduced the total solution BOM by half as compared to our previous generation modules."

Icron's USB 2.0 extension solutions are ideal for multiple applications including industrial automation/control, KVM extension and enterprise remote desktops, security, digital signage, home network integration, automotive telematics, and factory floor control.

The ExtremeUSB 2.0 Core 2100 daughter boards are powered by ExtremeUSB(R), Icron's patented technology that guarantees true remote USB 2.0 connectivity and full compatibility with existing USB 2.0 devices in the market. The Core 2100 Modules and the previously released Ranger(R) 2101 and 2104 products support USB 2.0 and classic 1.1 host controllers with no additional software drivers required for operation.
