Liebert PowerSure PSA Delivers Full-Featured Power Protection for Small Networks and Business Critical Workstations

Line Interactive Technology with Automatic Voltage Regulation Ensures Clean Uninterruptible Power

COLUMBUS, OH, May 14, 2003 - Liebert(r) Corporation today unveiled PowerSure PSA, a compact, full-featured uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system with capacities from 350VA to 1,000VA. Designed to increase the reliability and availability of workstations, point-of-sale systems and network equipment, PowerSure PSA utilizes line interactive technology with automatic voltage regulation to protect against the outages, disturbances and spikes that can damage equipment, paralyze business and destroy critical data.

"At Liebert, we have extensive experience protecting business critical systems - from the highest availability data centers to the smaller, but equally important, systems small businesses, remote offices and retail locations depend upon," said Tony Marrow, PowerSure product manager at Liebert. "The PowerSure PSA has been shaped by this experience, allowing us to deliver a high level of protection and functionality in a very cost effective package. It is the ideal UPS for almost any small, business-critical computer system."

With a minimum of five minutes of battery backup time at full load, the PowerSure PSA protects against temporary disturbances and provides automatic, controlled shutdown in the event of extended outages. Its line interactive design with built-in automatic voltage regulation (AVR) provides continuous, efficient power conditioning - eliminating the voltage variations that can affect the performance of sensitive microelectronics.

PowerSure PSA is designed for easy set-up and installation with configurable input voltage; USB and serial communications options; battery-backed and surge-only outlets; and user-replaceable, hot-swappable batteries. It is certified by Microsoft for use with Windows XP and 2000 systems and by Apple Computer, Inc., for its Macintosh OS X (version 10.2 or later).

PowerSure PSA Features:

-Double Boost/Single Buck voltage regulation ensures power quality while prolonging battery life -Four to six Battery-backed UPS outlets and two surge-only outlets enable complete protection of almost any system and its peripherals -Integrated transient voltage suppression system (TVSS) protects against incoming surges and spikes -Dataline surge suppression protects modems, fax, network, DSL and other communications equipment from surges and spikes

-User-replaceable, hot swappable batteries deliver a minimum of five minutes of power at full load -Advanced input voltage matching allows the UPS to be matched to incoming power and ensures precisely regulated power to the load -Serial or USB communications options ensure controlled shutdown for new and legacy systems. With the USB option, Windows' or the Macintosh OS's built-in power management function, monitors UPS status and provides orderly shutdown if an outage exceeds battery capacity. The serial communications option uses Liebert Multilink software to control the shutdown of systems that do not have a USB interface -Audible and visual alarms alert users to conditions that may lead to shutdown. -A microprocessor-based control and monitoring package with front panel LED indicators provide continuous status updates -Two-year warranty

PowerSure PSA pricing ranges from $180 to $510, depending upon the model.
