Universal to Present Leading-edge Placement Technology at Mexitronica 2006

Universal Instruments has announced plans to showcase the highly flexible AdVantis AX-72 and Quadris-S machine sets from booth #718 at this year's Mexitronica, being held over October 10th - 12th in Guadalajara, Mexico.

An example of the AdVantis Platform's inherent flexibility, Universal's AdVantis AX-72 display will highlight one of the most adaptable models in the AdVantis collection. A modular placement machine with combination head capability, the AdVantis AX-72 can be configured to deploy up to two heads on a single beam and accommodates a wide selection of heads and cameras. Being demonstrated in conjunction with Universal's Direct Pick Tray Feeder, the AdVantis AX-72 is able to replenish components without stopping, delivering optimal productivity and throughput for today's manufacturers.

In addition, visitors to Universal's Mexitronica booth will also discover the Quadris-S four-gantry placement machine. Simultaneously harnessing the power of proven turret-style and overhead gantry technologies, Quadris-S is an innovative high-volume placement solution designed to deliver concentrated throughput in a small footprint. Equipped to accurately place the smallest SMD passives or CSPs with both speed and repeatability, Quadris-S looks set to be a welcome on-booth attraction alongside the AdVantis AX-72. Meanwhile, delegates can also take advantage of the renowned Universal knowledge-base by discussing product or process issues with the on-booth team.

"Universal's presence at this year's Mexitronica reinforces our commitment to Mexico's electronics manufacturing sector," explains Carlos Takahashi, Director of Latin American Operations. "As a unique showcase of the latest products and processes driving this developing industry, Mexitronica is an ideal environment in which to present Universal's progressive expertise. In particular, the AdVantis AX-72 and Quadris-S display will highlight our ability to provide flexible and responsive configurations as part of modular platform lines. By witnessing these technologies in action, Mexitronica attendees will experience our commitment to innovation first hand, through solutions designed to deliver unbeatable value, speed, accuracy and flexibility."
