Universal Protective Packaging and ANL Plastics Complete Agreement on Patented Thermoformed HDPE Fragility Packaging Solutions
MECHANCISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA and WELLEN, BELGIUM - Universal Protective Packaging, Inc. and ANL Plastics NV completed an agreement for the production, sales and marketing of custom, thermoformed HDPE fragility packaging solutions - cost-saving packaging solutions produced from clean, recycled, reprocessed and thermoformed HDPE material. Reclaimed laundry detergent and milk container material are examples of the material source.
In the agreement, ANL Plastics NV licenses Universal Protective Packaging, Inc. to manufacture and sell the patented Geospring® and U-Pad & Lid® thermoformed fragility packaging solution in North America. Universal Protective Packaging and ANL Plastics first established a global partnership in the late 1990s. Universal Protective Packaging is offering ANL Plastics' patented packaging solution immediately.
"We are able to offer an industry accepted and approved fragility packaging solution to our current and future customers who wish to reduce their packaging process costs and reduce environmental impact through an engineered, post-consumer recycled material packaging solution," said Tim Ritter, UPPI's Vice President of Sales and Engineering.
"The patented Geospring® and U-Pad & Lid® thermoformed recycled, HDPE fragility end cap packaging solution produced by UPPI will enable disk drive and storage device manufacturers worldwide to realize total cost of ownership savings of 15% - 30% or more compared to expensive and bulky expanded polystyrene or laminated PE plank foam end caps. Not only will disk drive manufacturers realize the cost saving benefits of the thermoformed fragility packaging, it broadens our product offerings to our medical device and diagnostic equipment customer base as well," Ritter added.
