Universal Angle Sensor offers measuring ranges up to 359°.

Press Release Summary:

Series 424Dxxx can be used for mechanical/automotive engineering applications where angles are to be detected under severe environmental conditions. Depending on model, angle measurements can be executed from 20° to complete circle (0-359°). Measurements are made with magnetic field whose rotation is detected with non-contact Hall sensor. Specified over -40 to +85°C, series offers 12-bit resolution, 1.6 kHz signal refresh, and homogeneous signal curve with ±1% max linearity error.

Universal Angle Sensor

elobau is enhancing its sensor portfolio with a universal angle sensor for measuring ranges up to 359 degrees. The new sensors can be used wherever angles are to be detected under severe environmental conditions.

The new 424Dxxx Angle Sensor from elobau features high precision paired with extraordinary robustness. Depending on the model, it can execute angle measurements ranging from 20° up to a complete circle ranging from 0° to 359°. The non-contact design provides exceptional reliability. The measurements are made with a magnetic field whose rotation is detected with a non-contact Hall sensor. Another benefit of this construction principle: the sensor does not require a limit stop. Thanks to its IP 67protection class, the sensor is protected against all effects of dust and water which may be present in industrial processes and in vehicles. Other features are short-circuit protection, electromagnetic compatibility as per DIN 40389 for automotive applications as well as high-quality and durable ball bearings for the rotating axis. Operating temperatures range from -40°C to +85°C.

The unit's resolution of 12 bits with a signal refresh rate of 1.6 kHz is evidence of it high accuracy. The angle sensor also features a highly homogeneous signal curve with a maximum linearity error of ± 1 percent. The analog output optionally ranges from 1 to 5 V, 4 to 20 mA or 0.5 to 4.5 V. With these features, the 424Dxxx Angle Sensor can be used for almost any mechanical or automotive engineering application.

elobau - Specialist for electronic components
elobau was established in 1972 by Fritz Hetzer. Headed by his son Michael Hetzer, the company today employs more than 260 people at three locations: the main plant in Leutkirch, an administrative office in Isny, and a toolmaking operation in Lichtenhain. The company had revenues of about 33 million in 2004.

elobau's product spectrum comprises 20 separate product groups. Contactless safety switches, an innovation which elobau introduced to the market as early as 1977, play an important role for the company. Another major product group is automotive components, ranging from simple buttons to complete control panels. A promising innovation is the eloSafe bus system, which significantly reduces the amount of cabling required for machine safety systems. A wide variety of switches, sensors and joystick controllers accounts for the remaining product groups.

To be able to fill customer orders quickly, elobau counts on its manufacturing depth. In addition to its own tool making and injection molding operations, elobau also maintains its own production shop for prototypes and limited production runs, an SMD placement facility and a cable assembly operation.

Among the company's satisfied customers in the vehicle industry are the Agco Group, CNH and John Deere. Industrial customers include Bosch Rezroth, Kärcher and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen.
