Spectroline Now Offers Nine Low-Cost UV Transilluminators

Westbury, New York - Spectronics Corporation has extended its Select(TM) Series line of low-priced ultraviolet transilluminators from three to nine models, so there's sure to be one to meet every lab's research requirements and budget. These quality instruments perform as well as many higher-priced models.

All nine transilluminators have the same housing dimensions: 12 x 13.25 x 3.5 in (30.5 x 33.7 x 8.9 cm), making them convenient space-savers in the lab. The original three single-wavelength units use six 8-watt 312nm tubes, while the six new dual-wavelength models utilize ten 8-watt tubes that offer varying combinations of 254/365/312nm wavelengths. All units provide extra-high UV intensity and ensure long sample preparation time.

The six 312nm and 365nm transilluminators feature a unique diffusing screen, which provides uniform light distribution to eliminate annoying light striations. A special LONGLIFE(TM) filter glass in all 312nm and 254nm units helps prevent solarization. All models feature a hinged UV-blocking cover to protect both the user and the filter glass.

The Select Series transilluminators provide excellent photodocumentation results, reduce the chance of gel contamination, cause minimal photodamage and can detect even trace amounts of DNA.
