Ultrasound System allows inspection of rough/wavy surfaces.

Press Release Summary:

DYNARAY(TM) Phased Array Ultrasound System can be configured with up to 256 simultaneously active channels. It can dynamically adapt focal laws sent to phased array probe during inspection sequence as function of probe position. Hardware is controlled by UltraVision® 3 software, which generates optimized acoustic beams through complex inspection surfaces and offers 3D work environment including creation of components and visualization of examination data.

Zetec Releases DYNARAY(TM) Phased Array Ultrasound System

SNOQUALMIE, WASHINGTON - Zetec, Inc., the total solution nondestructive testing (NDT) provider for
the Power Generation industry, announced it will launch the world's most powerful commercial phased
array ultrasonic (UT) system at the 6th International Conference on NDE in Relation to Structural
Integrity for Nuclear and Pressurized Components.

The new DYNARAY(TM) system completely redefines the potential of phased array UT technology by
enabling highly efficient and more flexible inspection solutions. The DYNARAY(TM) data acquisition
system can be configured with up to 256 simultaneously active channels, to fully benefit from the
versatility of 2-D matrix array probes. In addition, the DYNARAY(TM) offers superior inspection capability
on rough and wavy surfaces, because it can dynamically adapt focal laws sent to the phased array
probe during the inspection sequence as a function of the probe position. The DYNARAY(TM) hardware is
controlled by Zetec's new UltraVision® 3 software. It offers a 3-D work environment, including the
creation of components and visualisation of examination data. In particular, UltraVision® 3 can generate
optimized acoustic beams through complex inspection surfaces.

"The DYNARAY(TM) system and UltraVision® 3 offer superior performance and a large set of advanced
features" stated Guy Maes, UT Product Manager for Zetec. "This new product suite opens up new
possibilities for our customers, and as such our application engineers are ready to guide and support
them in implementing their innovative inspection solutions," added Mr. Maes.

The DYNARAY(TM) will be on display for the first time during the 6th International Conference on NDE in
Relation to Structural Integrity for Nuclear and Pressurized Components, October 8-10th in Budapest,
Hungary.
