New! Ultrasonic FFC Splicer

Wilmington, MA... STAPLA Ultrasonics introduces MATRIX, the first non-custom ultrasonic welding system specifically for splicing FFC (flexible flat cable). The system includes STAPLA's state-of-the-art digital controller, ultrasonic welder, and support system.

A modular weld head provides 100 mm of clearance underneath the transducer assembly to allow ample room for easily locating weld points. The unique nodal support system enables the MATRIX to virtually eliminate deflection of the transducer assembly resulting in a weld pattern that is uniform.

The MATRIX features repeatability of ±0.01 mm due, in part, to a highly accurate height sensor. Force applied to the work pieces is accurately measured by a custom load cell integrated into the anvil assembly. The system's dimensions are approximately 20 x 9 x 10 inches for length, width and height respectively.

The digital controller is easily programmed for sequential welding and includes extensive monitoring capabilities. MATRIX is currently used in high-volume automobile manufacturing production. Other industries with applications include medical, computer, data and tele-communications.
