Ultrasonic Sensors are redesigned for increased range.

Press Release Summary:

Analog output ultrasonic industrial position sensors have increased measuring ranges from 30 to 2500 mm, resolution of 0.03 mm, and repeatability of 0.5 to 1 mm. Tubular housings are available in 30 and 50 mm dia in nickel-plated brass, and square body 30 mm housings are available in high impact industrial grade polyester. Both are IP 67 sealed. Sensors are suitable for non-contact distance and level monitoring applications.

Baumer Electric Offers Redesigned Analog Ultrasonic Sensors

Southington, Conn. - December 27, 2001. Baumer Electric has redesigned their existing line of analog output ultrasonic industrial position sensors to increase accuracy and range capabilities. These sensors are ideal for non- contact distance and level monitoring applications such as liquid or granulate level detection, clear and opaque object measuring, and roll diameter measuring.

The redesigned analog ultrasonic sensors offer increased measuring ranges from 30 to 2500 mm, improved resolution of 0.03 mm, and enhanced repeatability of <0.5 mm to <1 mm. Available tubular housings are 30 and 50 mm diameter in nickel-plated brass. Square body 30 mm housings are also available in high impact industrial grade polyester. Both designs are IP 67 sealed.

The teach function on the Baumer ultrasonic sensor allows the user to select both the limits of the sensing range and the slope of the analog output. The output function is invertible, which allows the user to select a rising or falling output slope as appropriate for the application. All adjustments are made using the teach-in button and settings can be easily monitored using the multicolored LED indicator. Set-up configuration is saved on an internal EEPROM, which guarantees operation. Available in cable and connector versions, all ultrasonic analog sensors have an extremely small blind region. Analog output supplies 4-20mA or zero to 10 VDC.
