MS600 Sludge Blanket Monitor from Magne-Sonic Has Many Built-In Features

Magne-Sonics® introduces the MS600 sludge blanket monitor that has an abundant range of built-in, display, control and alarm features and operates with an easy to use menu driven program that allows complete configuration of the unit with local programming carried out via a membrane keypad.

Utilizing the sonar principle with an ultrasonic pulse transmitted under the water, The MS600 can analyze the pulse of ultrasound that transmits vertically and reflects from the surface of the sludge blanket. This sophisticated echo processing system captures the ultrasonic echoes reflected from the blanket interface. Knowing the speed of sound in the supernatant, the depth of the sludge blanket is then determined from the time of flight of the echo.

Optimized for use with clarifier and thickeners containing municipal and industrial wastewater treatment sludge, the system is comprised of a self cleaning ultrasonic transducer that is without any moving mechanical devices that are prone to malfunction and a bridge mounted control unit that is specifically designed for easy installation on a clarifier tank bridge using a mounting bracket that is also supplied with the system.

The bridge mounted MS600 is a stand alone unit that can communicate to an optional remote mounted unit situated off the clarifier bridge by the way of an integral telemetry link that has a 1640 feet range and is constructed to cater to applications both with and without moving bridges where transmitting small signals is a problem.
