L&R Ultrasonics First to Offer Ultrasonic Cleaning Machines With AK Coatings' Antimicrobial-Coated Stainless Steel
KEARNY, NJ, Marcy 5, 2003 - L&R Manufacturing Co. today introduces SweepZone Ag®, a new line of SweepZone Ultrasonic Cleaning Systems manufactured with AgION(tm) antimicrobial-coated stainless steel from AK Coatings. The AgION compound is a patented product that is applied to the steel to suppress the growth and migration of bacteria and other micro-organisms.
The process is simple. Silver ions, the active ingredient, are slowly released from the anti-microbial compound to the surface of the treated steel, inhibiting the growth of destructive microbes. AK Coatings' antimicrobial-coated stainless steel also resists fingerprinting, resulting in a cleaner appearance.
