Ulticom Partners with AMD to Deliver High-Performance Signaling Solutions for Telecommunication Networks

Announces Availability of Signalware on x64 Platforms

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 12 -- At the 3GSM World Congress, Ulticom®, Inc. (Pink Sheets: ULCM), a leading provider of network signaling solutions, today announced the general availability of Signalware® software on x64 server platforms running dual core AMD Opteron processors. The combination of these technologies offers communication system and service providers a cost effective, high-performance signaling platform with unparalleled speed, processing power and scalability to enable the next generation of network applications and infrastructure.

Signalware SS7, the market leader in signaling, provides a comprehensive application development and run time environment encompassing the essential network signaling protocol technology used to reliably deliver communication services. The distributed architecture of Signalware SS7 includes clustering across multiple servers, load sharing, system redundancy, and dynamic application failover to minimize the risk of service outages. Signalware SS7 efficiently scales to add capacity on demand to support high transaction rates and increased service usage while minimizing deployment costs.

Under this partnership, Ulticom is offering support for Signalware on AMD Opteron processor-based servers from Sun, IBM, and HP. AMD Opteron processors are built on the industry-standard x86 architecture and offer the carrier- class performance, efficiency, manageability, scalability and longevity that customers need to better align with their business strategy. Systems and service providers can now lower the total cost of ownership by deploying a field-proven signaling software and hardware solution with the flexibility to choose from a wide range of standards-based computing platforms capable of running Solaris or Linux in small footprint that saves space and power.

"Ulticom and AMD share a similar commitment to drive innovation and technology leadership in the market by introducing the high-performance capabilities that power the industry's most demanding communication services," said Osman Duman, senior vice president and CMO at Ulticom. "Our customers have begun to adopt these platforms for mission-critical applications such as E-911 to support the continued growth of wireless and VoIP subscribers."

In addition to the availability of Signalware software on AMD Opteron processor-based servers, Ulticom announced AMD has joined the Ulticom Alliance Program (UAP). The UAP targets computing and operating system platform vendors, Independent Software Vendors and delivery vendors that add value to Signalware and nSignia(TM) products. AMD's participation expands the UAP ecosystem of platform partners at an ideal time in the market as the adoption of modular, scalable and standards-based architectures is accelerating. Customers can now select Signalware products on AMD with the confidence that it is fully tested, validated, and backed by Ulticom's world class support organization.

"Joining the Ulticom Alliance Program strengthens AMD's position in the communications market as a premier provider of 64-bit, multi-core processors for the world's highest performing x86 servers," said Terri Hall, Vice President Strategic Alliances at AMD. "Together our companies provide network and service providers with a powerful platform on which to deploy their solutions."

Ulticom will be showcasing its Signalware product line in Hall 1, Stand 1A23 and in the AMD stand in Hall 2, Stand 2.1B26 at the 3GSM World Congress being held this week in Barcelona, Spain.
