UL Approves AquaMaster 3 Magmeters for Fire-suppression Sprinkler Systems

Warminster, PA, – ABB’s Measurement Analytics business announces the release of the latest AquaMaster 3 electromagnetic flowmeter as UL Approved for fire suppression service. The UL service certified the AquaMaster 3 magmeter for fire service after rigorous tests. These included large flow ranges, pressure containment, and performance throughout a wide temperature range.
Throughout the U.S. most commercial properties must be equipped with fire suppression systems using water sprinklers. Aside from use during activation of the sprinklers, the AquaMaster flowmeter can measure water lines for billing regular water usage as well. Designed to replace bulky and heavy compound meter systems, AquaMaster 3 flowmeters provide significant cost savings in acquisition, installation and maintenance costs.
The AquaMaster fire service flowmeter is approved to UL standard 327B with accuracy up to 0.25% of rate. The meter design features a tamperproof sensor and transmitter that has an option for on-board data logging of flow and pressure. The AquaMaster flowmmeter can be powered with 120VAC or battery powered with integral or remote electronics. Available sensor sizes range from 2 to 12 inch and have minimal straight pipe requirements. The performance of the flowmeter can be verified through an in-situ verification system.
